On the radio, they played "I Can Only Imagine" and I started to think about Sarah. She almost died Sunday. She could have called me. She was tired of being the person society wants. She doesn't want to have a kid at seventeen and she just wants to die. I'm worried about her... I'm worried about her kid too, but how can I tell her when she shuns me and goes out with that little **insert bad word here** again? She infuriates me!
On the other hand, Mike has helped me through it. I called him after I found out that she had tried *but thank goodness that she threw it all up* and he came over. Mom was in the garden trying to figure out why the plants she planted a couple of months ago were barely growing (she never waters them) and he came in and sat with me in the TV room while I cried on his shoulder. He barely spoke the whole evening. Then he decided he wanted to watch a movie so he stuck Princess Diaries in the DVD player. We watched it with french audio and spanish subtitles. If that doesn't get you laughing, I don't know what will. We made fun of the French words and then I looked at Mike and he leaned over and kissed me. It wasn't that long, but it seemed to last for eternity. "Kenni, it's ok. She knows you care." I looked at him to see if I could see what he meant in his eyes (because they tell all) and he was back to watching the movie. Guys. I'll never understand them.
And today, he took me to Chicken E for lunch. He didn't buy mine because he barely had enough money for him today, but that was ok because I had some money. Enough to spend $6.18 on chicken and a delicious apple pie (with LOTS of cinnamon sugar). The sweet tea tasted spicy today, but that was ok. I like the flavor of peppermint :D
Well, I need to go and do my history.
