Matt came over today looking for Sandy, but Sandy went to work early today. I guess she needs the money. Since she wasn't there, he asked if he could take me to lunch. I'm his fiancee's sister! I said sure, why not? He took me to TGI Friday's. I wasn't that hungry, but I still ate most of their Strawberry Fields salad. He ate for a little while before he told me, "Mike still loves you, you know?"
"Yeah, I know. I love him too, but I don't want to hold him back. What if God wants him in Switzerland permanently?"
"I don't think we'll ever know. He told the director at their interview this morning that because of personal reasons, he didn't feel that he could take the scholarship and attend that college."
I almost choked on my salad. "He WHAT?!?"
"You showed that you loved him by letting him go. I don't think he realizes what a treasure he's got." He looked at me in a way that made my heart want to hug him, but I knew that I had to resist. "Their going to go around Europe, but this fall, he's going to go to Wayland, like he was planning to do before his acceptance letter came in for the college in Swiss Land."
I don't know whether to be happy, or sad. Golly, why does this have to happen to me?
